An excellent day out today in very foggy Leicestershire and Rutland. First up were the Cottesmore who met at Lyddington in Rutland. They left their meet at 11.20 and had packed up by 12.30 giving them a grand total of an hour and ten minutes hunting. We followed them back to their kennels to ensure they'd definitely finished then headed West into Leicestershire to look for the Fernie.
On the way we were pleased to bump into the Westerby Bassetts who were hunting near Saddington. They took one look at sabs streaming across the fields towards them and wisely decided to call it a day.
We continued to look for the Fernie and came across them hunting late in the day. They to decided to finish upon our arrival but not before calling the police with some spurious allegations of trespass. 5 police vehicles quickly arrived but seemed disinterested in the hunt's claims and were happy to let us go on our way as darkness fell
