A relatively uneventful but effective day at the Meynell today. The hunt met at Heath House Farm, Somersal Herbert to the West of the kennels in an arean they know well.
Straight from the meet they were on the run, moving North at speed to try and avoid us. This set the tone for the rest of the day with the hunt running and our two groups of sabs constantly being in the right place to keep an eye on them.
During the afternoon the hounds chased a fox but good use of a horn by sabs enabled us to pull them off the scent. This was the signal for the hunt to call it a day and they headed off nice and early to make themselves look pretty for the hunt ball.
It is interesting that while the Countryside Alliance keep whining on about sabs wearing masks the Meynell terrier men cover their faces as soon as they see sabs. Pot calling the kettle black we think!!
