We started the day with a couple of vehicles out looking for the elusive Per Ardua Beagles. When we couldn't immediately find them some of us headed to the Blankney foxhunt whilst the others carried on looking for the beagles.

We quickly found the Blankney hunting South of their meet at Hall Farm, Newton on Trent and upon our arrival they quickly headed back to the meet and packed up at twenty past two. Curiously there were at least 8 red coats out with them so it may have been a joint meet.

As soon as they'd finished we had a call from our other vehicle saying they'd found the beagles so we raced back South to give them a hand. When we arrived the beagles were scattered far and wide and the huntsman hasd gone back to his vehicle to pick up a spare horn as he'd lost his!

Our sabs showed the hunt how it's done and gathered some of the pack, even being praised by some of the support for their excellent horn blowing. The hunt headed back to their meet but continued to hunt on their way, pushing up numerous hares that were only saved by the quick acting sabs. Notts police turned up and we informed them that the hunt were clearly hunting illegally but a lack of desire to leave their vehicles made it hard for them to ascertain this for themselves.

An excellent day and it was gratifying to see so few support at the beagles. Clearly our constant attention is having an impact and it's no longer a fun day out!

Please help us out with a new camera if you possibly can

A good day out at the Meynell and South Staffs today with Derby Huntsabs and Manchester Hunt Sabs (with Liverpool Hunt Sabs joining us later in the day).

The hunt met at the Bluebell Inn, Kirk Langley, just to the East of Derby, an area we know well as it's very popular with the hunt. Despite the terrier men getting up to their usual tricks of blocking gates and trying to delay sabs we didn't lose sight of them all day and were always ready when they picked up a scent.

Midway through the afternoon the hounds came upon a fox who was forced to run right through the pack to escape. Fortunately our sabs were perfectly located and were able to form a whip line to stop the hounds and enable the fox to get away.

The terrier men got increasingly irate as the day wore on, attacking sabs who were blowing trumpets, but we're used to them and this behaviour doesn't deter us. The huntsman finally called it a day shortly after 3pm (early for him) and we were happy to have a nice early finish. All in all a fairly easy but very successful day. We'll be back!!

We started the day at the kennels of the South Notts waiting for the arrival of the Per Ardua Beagles. We were quickly spotted and the beagles never showed, presumably due to our presence.

Once we were certain they weren't going out we headed South to join our comrades from Northants Hunt Saboteurs and Beds & Bucks Hunt Sabs at the Fernie Hunt who had met in East Norton, Leicestershire.

We arrived just as the hunt were second horsing and our sabs quickly moved into the fields after them. With some decent tag teaming we then kept them on the move for the rest of the afternoon and were in the right place whenever they picked up the scent of a fox.

Some of the hunt support got increasingly aggro as the day wore on, threatening sabs and hurling abuse, culminating in one particularly unpleasant specimen getting arrested as the sun went down. We're uncertain what he was nicked for, either assault or being a massive twat, we'll let you know when we find out.

The hunt packed up soon after with their tales firmly between their legs and we headed home for some lovely donated vegan cheesecake.

Grey clouds and wet weather weren't enough to stop us from paying yet another visit to the Cottesmore Hunt today, along with sabs from Northampton, Derby, and Beds & Bucks.
From the word go the huntsman was determined to get a kill, encouraging hounds to chase a fox from covert to covert across the Leicestershire countryside. In fact, it was almost directly outside their meet (Waterloo Lodge, Stapleford LE14 2SF) that sabs had to go all out with horns and gizmos to ensure a fox escaped, after it was spotted with hounds less than 20m behind! Leicestershire police watched as this fox narrowly escaped with it's life, before deciding they were far more worried about the potential damage to crops sabs might cause!
Luckily, we've got a much better sense of perspective than the police, so we cracked on keeping ourselves glued to the hunt, intervening at every possible point to ensure the huntsman had another frustratingly kill free day. This did lead to some temper issues, with riders ramming our vehicle and support driving at sabs, but hey, it's nice to know we're getting to them!

Apparently the huntsman Andrew Osborne was upset by comments on facebook calling him a paedo, we've no idea where this has come from and can't comment on his relations with children, but can assure you his determination to kill in our mind does make him a massive nonce!
